T-fal Review

Who Is T-Fal?

T-fal logo

T-Fal is a french cookware brand called T Falusa.

They make a range of kitchen products, from cookware through to kitchen appliances and laundry care products.

T-fal are committed to helping you to enjoy healthy cooking and include some innovative technology in their ranges.

How Good is T-Fal Cookware?

T-Fal use materials in their cookware that you'd expect from a premium manufacturer and have a variety of ranges to suit all cookware tastes (no pun intended).

There is a range of non-stick, ceramic, and stainless steel cookware products all created using innovative technology and sturdy design. Making them last many years of home kitchen use.

You'll find that there's a T-fal pot and pans set out there perfect for your needs.

The main feature you'll find in most T-Fal cookware is T-fal Thermo-Spot, a handy heat indicator to help you create fantastic food with ease.

T-Fal Thermo-Spot

Thermo-Spot is a heat indicator built into your T-fal pot and pans set, which change color when you have warmed your cookware up to the correct temperature for cooking.

This technology is especially useful because T-fal claims (as does many other cooking and cookware pros) that the proper cooking temperature is the secret to great food.

You'll see inside T-fal pans that there is a 'Thermo-spot' pattern.

As you warm your pan, this pattern will change color and will turn a solid red when your pan reaches the ideal cooking temperature.

Once the pan is warm enough, you can add your oil and begin cooking.

Another great feature of all T-fal products is where they are made ...

Where is T-Fal Made?

Most of the T-fal products are made in Rumney, France.

What Is T-Fal Made Of?

You can find products made out of ceramic, stainless steel, and hard anodized titanium. Some products also feature copper—the specific materials depending on the cookware range you choose to purchase.

Which leads us onto the next point …

What Range Of Products Does T-Fal Carry?

T-fal has a wide range of products, within three main ranges. The products within each range may incorporate different materials and technology.

You'll find the following three ranges.

1. Nonstick

T-fal considers their non-stick range to be 'the easiest release and clean up' and also their most popular product range.

2. Ceramic

The ceramic range includes coating free cookware for the health-conscious.

In particular, anybody who likes to enjoy great food without any risk whatsoever of any harmful toxins seeping into the food from the metals and coatings.

T-Fal Ceramic Cookware Review - What The Customers Thought

The consensus gleaned from the T-fal ceramic cookware reviews is that they are a great product, but they do require some care and attention.

If you are somebody who likes to whack on the heat, dump your food in the pan, stick them in the dishwasher or leave them standing with food in for a while before cleaning and then stack in a cupboard, the chances are that these pans won't last as long as they could.

And if you can't adjust your cooking habits, these are probably not the pans for you. Instead, you'd probably enjoy the T-fal non-stick, or stainless steel pans more.

Happy reviewers claimed that they enjoy the feel of the handles, the non-stick surface, lightness, and even heating. Almost everyone pleased with the pans claimed that you need to take care of them.

If ceramic isn’t your ‘jam’ maybe you’d prefer non-stick?

T-Fal Stainless Steel Review

The T-fal stainless steel range is quite broad. You can find copper bottom stainless pans, tri-ply stainless steel, and a variety of other forms of stainless steel. There are T-fal pots and pans to suit all of your needs, including easy release stainless steel.

T-fal pan reviews from the stainless steel range are positive.

Although, as we find with almost every piece of cookware that isn't non-stick, some people probably didn't realize that they need to follow care and cooking guidelines to get the best out of the pans.

The T-Fal Stainless steel reviews were no exception.

However, the percentage of people disappointed with the T-fal stainless steel pots and pans is lower than those who didn't enjoy the ceramic range, which tells us that the ceramic range is an acquired taste.

Despite the challenges some customers face, T-Fal stainless steel reviews were generally positive with a star rating of around 4.5 stars on average, and 86% of those were four and five-star reviews, which is pretty impressive.

If T-fal stainless steel pots and pans are your preference, you're probably going to love these pans coming up next.

The Best T-fal Stainless Steel Pots and Pans

The only consideration you'll need to make before buying the pans coming up nest is that the copper/stainless steel design is painted on the bottom of the pan. It will wear off in time.

This won't influence the performance of the pans - the real copper base is built into the pan and not visible from the outside.

T-Fal Cookware Reviews: What Do The Customers Think

Most customers love T-Fal cookware. They appreciate the design, weight, comfort, and longevity of the pans.

However, we noticed three main issues mentioned in the T-fal pan reviews.

The first is down to the design of the pans.

T-Fal Cookware Reviews

1. The Convex Base

According to many T-fal pan reviews, the bottom of the pan on the inside has a slight mound. Causing the oil and foods, like eggs, slip to the sides of the pan rather than staying in the middle.

This is part of the design. It isn't damaged and most reviewers adjust to it really well.

2. Staining

There is a common issue, especially in the ceramic range where some foods - especially acidic foods might stain over time.

T-fal acknowledge this issue and assure you that it is a common issue with the materials they use; however, the staining does not compromise your health or the performance of the cookware.

3. Poor Cooking Habits Lead To Poor Performance Of The Pans

The third issue is shared amongst most brands, and that's the frustration that many home cooks have with problems such as warping, scratched surfaces, and stuck-on food.

Unfortunately, these issues are usually due to the home cooks cooking style. They may be doing some or all of the following:

  • Setting a cold pan on too high heat - this can warp a pan.
  • Not adequately seasoning the pan - leads to food sticking.
  • Scrubbing the pan too harshly - damages the surface of the pan.
  • Using metal utensils - damages the surface of the pan.
  • Adding too cold food to a pan - causes the food to stick.
  • Adding food to an inadequately warmed pan - causes the food to stick.
  • Putting cold water into a hot pan to soak - can warp the pan.

It seems as though the most perfect pan on the planet does not exist.

If you choose non-stick, the coating eventually wears and can be prematurely damaged if handled too heavily. If you choose ceramic, stainless steel, or other materials, there's a knack to learning how to take care of them.

Ideally, you should learn how to avoid all of the habits mentioned above when cooking. It will ensure the longevity of any type of cookware you use. At least until the time comes, if it ever does, that cookware manufacturers can innovate the perfect solution to these problems in one pan.

Despite these issues, it's important to remember that the percentage of feedback that was less than four stars only equated to around 14% of reviews.

To help you make the most out of your pans - here are some instructions on how to season your T-fal cookware.

How To Season A T-Fal Nonstick Pan

Seasoning a T-fal non-stick pan is simple.

  3. 3

Tip! Repeat the process from time to time if you wash the frying pan/saucepan regularly in the dishwasher.

  3. 3

Conclusion: What Makes T-Fal Stand Out From The Rest?

This T-fal review has highlighted that T-fal offers a great product range for all of your home cooking needs. Their designs are aesthetically pleasing and very functional. And their Thermo-spot technology makes it easy to take care of your pan without warping and to enjoy delicious, evenly cooked food.

The range is well-considered, innovative, and very functional. We don't believe you'd go wrong if you decided to bring some T-fal cookware into your home kitchen.
